Well I'm Drea, I'm the neighborhood stray.
Some of my off springs live here so I come and visit a lot.
I met Katie when she fell in love with one of my babies
I had in July of 2001.
So she brought home Oreo and later Sean picked out Tiger.

On Nov 7 2001 Katie found me and I had had more babies.
I had them outside and had trouble keeping them warm,
I did find a small box and an old coat and had them in someones
garage but it was still scary because of all the dogs around.
Then one day a little girl put my box up on the frezzer in the
garage, and she brought Katie to see me,
and Katie ask her mom if we could come stay with them,
She said we could until the babies were older then we would have to go back out.

Homes were found for all the babies.
Katie kept Baby Oreo cause the first Oreo had died and she missed him so.

On March 18th 2002 I waited until the lady of the house came
home from work and I pushed my way in, She said I could eat but
then I would need to go back out. I smiled and went to the food dish.
After I ate I ran up to Katie's room.
When her mom came up well
I was in early stage labor,
what could she do??
She sat up with me
most of the night
"helping me have babies"
I didn't tell her I had had many on my
own.
Katie got to watch also.
They put up a nice warm bed so these babies
would never have to feel the cold.
On March 19, 2002 I brought 5
new babies into the world.
One of them only made it a few days.
But she never knew the cold, so I'm thankful for that.

All the kittens have been given away.
I heard the lady say she has an appointment for me next week to be spayed.
I don't know what that is but I get to go for a ride in the car, so it sounds fun.

Cutie and I had our babies just weeks apart so we shared
taking care of them all.
we had seperate beds but we all liked to
just share one.
The kittens nursed from whoever was closes.
It was nice to have another momma cat around.

***Update****
I took Drea in to have her spayed on 6-6-2002
She had gotten out of the house a few times, I didn't
think much of it, because she always came back.
When I went to pick her up from the vet I found out she
was three weeks pregnut, they didn't bother to call me before
they aborted the babies
However she is spayed now and doing good
Many People ask why I never just kept Drea. She did have a home she was my
next door neighbor's cat and she would never give me permission to keep her
It was fine if I took care of Drea when she had babies and it was ok to find homes
for the babies, she just wouldn't let me keep her, when I had her spayed I did it without
permission.
We have no laws in our town about the amount of cats a person can have, When the neighbor
finally ended up in jail on drug charges she had about 8 cats none of them were spayed
or neutered. so I was able to call in pet rescue and with there help we caught all the cats
got them all fixed and adopted them out. Drea wasne't one of them, by then she was gone
I have heard she found a good home a few blocks away, I pray it is true. |
